Good afternoon ladies. Here we are at the middle of yet another month in 2011. Does anyone know where the time has gone? I am amazed at how quickly time is passing. We will soon close the books on 2011, all though most of us will ask ourselves, "where did the time go?"
I spent yesterday at my brother-in-laws church witnessing their baptism service. He is in a church that normally sprinkles but he told the pastor he had 57 years of junk that needed to be washed from him, so we made a caravan to Holiday Shores and he and another lady were baptized in the cold waters of the lake. What an awesome time that was. It was cold, very rainy but I have never been more blessed by anything in my life. No one complained, we were in awe of someone wanting to be baptized so badly that they were willing to go into cold water in the middle of pouring rain to be obedient to the LORD. Honestly ladies, I felt a bit shallow. We are such a blessed church. We have a warm baptistery and a warm building (for the most part). We don't have to get out in pouring rain to drive to the lake to witness someone being obedient to the LORD. We sit in our warm building, but I think we miss the excitement of gathering around watching the converted soul walk to the waters and go in to be "washed clean".
What is really neat about this story is that Tom and his brother are both experiencing very big milestones, spiritually speaking, one week apart. During their growing up years, no one would have predicted this. Well, maybe those two ladies who followed Tom through Sunday School and VBS would. If you heard Tom's testimony this will make sense.
I trust you are all working on your scriptures. Don't forget to bring your spiral note cards to class tomorrow night. I will give you fair warning, God has been moving this week and I have just spent the most incredible hour with a couple I have been working with through out the year. I may be a bit hyper with you Wednesday. Don't forget, God is on the move in our midst. You may be waiting for Him to move in your circumstance, don't give up, He will move.
"Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones." I Thessalonians 3:11-13
Love you all and look forward to Wednesday, Marilyn
