Good Morning!
Here we are again on a Monday after a full weekend for most of us.
Please encourage one another in this accountability of our scripture memory. In my small group time this past Wednesday, it came out in conversation about how to get rid of such negative and destructive thoughts that rule in our mind. Someone said, "Take captive our thoughts by the word of God." Yep, that is the only way it will happen.
I know that in my own life my mind can go on a crazy journey taking me into a jungle of tangled lies. I may be the only one in our class, but I have to fight to have a pure, God honoring mind daily. Satan attacks it as the enemy that he is to me.
SO, let's share our weapon tools.
Mine: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." I Cor. 2:9
I am also working on the verses on our study from pages 31 and 32. I am going to try to memorize them.
Of course Col. 3:12 "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
READ CHAPTER 5 FOR WEDNESDAY.
I am hoping to be able to join you all again this Wednesday. I'm doing better and had my first day of physical therapy today. It went pretty smoothly.
ReplyDeleteI am still working on Isaiah 41:9, 10. I am really close to having it completely memorized. I have been able to keep up with the book reading and have really missed not being there for the discussion time.
Based on what you said Gail, it sounds like you all talked about how you combat thoughts in your mind. I think that I have shared this in class before but the way that works for me is when a negative/bad/damaging/evil thought enters my mind I IMMEDIATELY replace it with a positive/biblical thought. And I do that as many times as necessary throughout the day...sometimes it feels like 1000+. But, because I have done that for so long now ( over 10 years) it is my first response instead of my last. Praise God!!!! I don't even have to think about doing it anymore.
Hoping everyone stays cool!

Great thoughts ladies! There are solutions to every problem we have - we just have to look for them in His Word.
ReplyDeleteI am still working on Colossians 3:12-13.
