Chapter 1 & 2

Good Morning ladies,

Today is the new Monday! Ha. Holidays threw us off a little, and our summer schedules may get a little hectic with people in and out. That is ok. We live by grace and we offer grace! :)

I hope that you have all received your books and have read chapters 1&2. If you are reading this post you may want to call a few people to remind them for us!

Have you spent time this week KNOWING that you are loved? It has been a little overwhelming for me. The fact of the intense focus on God's love for me has brought about such humbleness. I do not deserve it. I cannot earn it. I'll never be good enough, AND yet God loves me in such a way our English language falls short of the greatness of it.

This week we will begin to build upon that and just like David did in the Old Testament, we must ask God to search our hearts so that WE can see what God sees. That is a good thing. A painful thing, yes. But, if we do not recognize that we are walking around in rags, we will not recognize the need for a new wardrobe.

I don't know about you, but I love a new piece of clothing. My girls always wash a garment before wearing it. Not me. There is something about putting on that perfectly ironed and creased, new smelling shirt, dress or pair of pants!

Come with a heart wanting to be changed this summer. We do not want this to just be another book study that we can say we read, and it have no impact upon our hearts and the way that we live.

If you do not have your book PLEASE COME. It will be ok. The chapters are short and you will still be able to participate in discussion. I promise!

Do you live as if you are loved?

  1. The first two chapters were great and I had to read them a few times. The first time I read the chapters I thought, "wow, the author brought out some great points that I'd really like to remember and apply." The second time I read the chapters was because I was in a situation where application of the biblical truths that had been presented was needed. God's timing is always perfect and I am thankful to have had such a great resource on hand this past week.

  2. I did read the first two chapters but unfortunately I was not able to make it tonight because I am having back pain that has kept me confined to the couch or bed for the past 7 days. I missed not being there and being able to discuss the book with everybody. I am hoping to be able to join you all again next week. What is the reading homework?

I went to the ER on Saturday, they gave me some medication and said to give it a couple of days. It has been 4 days since then. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow (which I don't have any faith in his medical ability...he should not be a doctor) if he doesn't have any answers then I will go back to the ER. I really need some relief, soon.

  3. I started reading the first 2 chapters last week before I went on vacation. I am done with all but the last couple of pages which I intend to read today and then read them again to refresh my brain. Colossians chapter 3 has been such a blessing to me. I have been trying to read it each day in The Message bible. Last Thursday, my prayer was to put on the clothing of tender mercies, kindness, humility and long suffering. I started my day in prayer and in the Word. I had a very hectic busy morning and I was wondering how I would get everything done. On my way to my first appointment (which I was already running behind) an older lady was stopped in the lane I needed to exit on. She was waiving so I assumed she wanted me to go around her. As I started to go around I noticed she was talking to me asking me to stop for help. I stopped and she said she was lost, she was late for an appointment because someone told her to go north instead of south on 255. It took 20 minutes, but I figured out my Garmin and gave her step by step directions to get to the destination that she needed. I was really late getting started with my day (cleaning for my aunt) but somehow God allowed me to get the work that it usually took 5 hours to do...done in only 3 1/2 hours. I still made my afternoon appointments and must say that I was blessed and amazed at how God worked out all the details of my day. I did not share the entire Gospel with her but I said God Bless You and wished her a good rest of the day. I always am reminded of how much God loves me as I recall where He has brought me from each and every day! I pray your day is blessed as well as you read this really long comment! lol

  4. Ashley, God's message is always right where we are in life - or what He knows we may face! That is so neat.
Brandy, wow. I am so sorry you are in such pain! We missed you and will be praying for you.
Dawn, thanks for sharing - again, what a neat testimony of God's word being put into your daily life.
