How To Pray For Others

I was reading back through the beginning of Colossians this morning and wanted to share with you how we have instructions on HOW to pray for others.

1. Be thankful for their faith and changed lives (1:3)

2. Ask God to help them know what he wants them to do (1:9)

3. Ask God to give them deep spiritual understanding (1:9)

4. Ask God to help them live for him (1:10)

5. Ask God to give them more knowledge of himself (1:10)

6. Ask God to give them strength for endurance (1:11)

7. Ask God to fill them with joy, strength, and thankfulness (1:11, 12)

If you still have your journal, please get it out and put it to use! Write these down and begin putting names beside each prayer that is applicable to the individual. Let's claim scripture over one another.

As for me, please pray ALL 7 over me.

Have a great weekend and do not forget to be KIND! :) Even in the express lane! Ha, ha. Sorry, Melissa, I could not resist!  And as far as Hit-N-Run is concerned --- I just stay away from that place....

  1. Wow, what a challenge and encouragement. You have my prayers friend. I am so thankful for your changed life. Isn't God amazing that He builds and restores our lives even greater than we can imagine? Your faith truly is amazing to me. Keep your eyes looking upward and He will direct you in your decisions and path He has chosen for you. I do pray for you to have an even deeper spiritual understanding as you live for Him. Your strength and endurance will increase as you walk in your knowledge of Him. May you be filled with joy, strength and thankfulness as you walk out these scriptures. I come into agreement with you and your challenge to us. God bless you REAL good. Marilyn
