Is This January?

Good evening friends! I hope you were able to get out and enjoy this wonderful day. I wanted to share with you that I had the wonderful joy of watching Angie Smith on the James Robinson today. Beverly called Tom and told him about it so that he could record it for me. It was a wonderful show and a great surprise for me when I came home from work tonight. If you get a chance to record it I think it will be on again tonight at 11p on channel WPXS (on charter is 13).

I trust everyone has read their book and is ready to jump in Wednesday night as together we look out how God has helped the women in scripture overcome their fears. I want you to know I am humbled by your willingness to join our group. Each and everyone of you amaze and inspire me. Wednesday we will look at the story of Sarah and Hagar, one of my favorite stories in the Bible. Sarah's biggest fear was that God had forgotten his promise to her. She was impatient and fearful. Not a situation unfamiliar to me, how about you?

Take time to rest and refresh your soul. Remember your assignment to choose and write out a scripture related to fear in your spiral card book. For those who do not have one yet, I have plenty that I am bringing with me on Wednesday. Share a thought or two that came to you from your reading this week. I would love to hear from you so I know you are reading the blog.

Love you

  1. Scott is out of town on Wednesday and he really wanted to go to the thing with Doug Morrow. I am going to go to that on Wednesday night and learn what I can so that I can share it with Scott. I'll join you again next week.

  2. I can't believe that it is January either!

I did get to enjoy today but I wasn't outside.

I was able to read the chapters and have highlighted several things and I wrote down some comments.

I am still working on a previous scripture so it will be a couple of weeks before I choose one of the scriptures that are on the purple paper. Although, I did decide which one I want to work on.

    See ya Wednesday!

  3. I have chosen 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love. But, perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." I have struggled with fear my whole life and I honestly am not sure why. However, the why isn't important as long as I focus on my Lord and allow Him to cast out my fear with His perfect love.

I am looking forward to studying this book to see if I can grow further in my dealings with this fear that constantly looks over my shoulder.

I appreciate you, Marilyn for leading us.

  4. I am hating that I will be gone for two weeks!!! I miss our class A LOT. Need it. Want it.
This book, like our other, will be a book that can be read more than once in a lifetime because it is so relevant to us.
My scripture that I have been learning is the Psalm 100. I have choose it to begin the New Year.
I will find one to memorize and apply dealing with fear. Ann, I love I John 4:18; I may join you in using that.
Know that I will be with you in spirit tonight and will be praying for each individual and Marilyn as she facilitates the group. Do no hold back in fear; God has placed us together for his glory. I need to remember that one, too.
    Love you all.

  5. Ladies, thank you for your response. I am beginning today to work on 2 Cor. 2:14 "But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere." Just two hours until we meet for class. Gail, thank you for the prayers for all of us and we miss you. Dian, we will miss you and Brandy and Ann thank you for sharing the scripture verses you are working on.

  6. I have read the book and can relate to a lot of the fears that the author has dealt with. I love our class and can't wait to meet tonight. I am still trying to decide on a memory verse since so many relate to my fears but will choose one soon.
