I cannot tell you what an encouragement our class was to me last night. Marilyn and I are so proud of you (and ourselves) because everyone has chosen a particular memory verse to begin applying to her life! We pray that our small group time was an encouragement to you as well. I woke up very early this morning and began praying for a few of you as the Lord brought to mind some issues that you shared and are struggling with.
As we begin to apply Ephesians 6 and "put on the full armor of God...we WILL be able to stand ground with the belt of truth buckled around our waist(s), with the breast-plate of righteousness in place, and with our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of PEACE."
I don't know about you, but that excites me to realize that we have chosen (as a group) to push the enemy away with the word of God! There is power in that; let's live as victorious women today.
I leave you with several promises God gives us if we discipline ourselves to memorizing his word AND applying it:
Psalms 19:7-11 God's word:
- Revives the soul
- Is trustworthy
- Makes wise the simple
- Gives joy to the heart
- Gives light to the eyes
- Endures forever
- Righteous
- More precious than gold
- Sweeter than honey
- KEEPING THEM there is GREAT rewards
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am so excited about our group I can barely sit in my seat. Let us not grow weary in our struggles to become all He wants us to be. As we walk in faith believing that He is now working in our lives, not only in the future or even in the past, but today, this very minute. Have a blessed day. ...."faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". Hebrews 11:1
ReplyDeleteI hope what I am about to share helps, as I know many of us are struggling with some pretty heavy issues. Today I was driving to have lunch with my family before my brother had to be at the airport to head back to Germany. It is about a 40 minute drive. I had the radio cranked up and was enjoying the Christian music on JoyFM. Several of the songs that they played right in a row where all dealing with the same message...Although there is a lot going on in your life and you feel that you just can't deal with anything else. God is working things out in you to form you into the person HE NEEDS you to be. It is all for our good and to make us stronger. One thing that we seem to forget is that we are not on this earth for us, we are here to carry out God's purpose. But because we are human God has to do a lot of purifying in us. As one of the songs said, " Hang on just a little bit longer", God promises that it will be worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see what God will do in our lives during this class.
In Christ Love,
Brandy
Good word,Brandy! It's hard to remember that everything should be for his purpose and his glory. Our rewards are here on earth as I said in a different post, but also when we see him face-to-face.
ReplyDeletePraying for you!
