Just for Fun

I thought it would be fun to share some fall recipes. Fall always makes me want to be in the kitchen.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 8-ounce block of cream cheese, softened
3/4 to 1 cup powdered sugar (*to taste)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips, plus extra for sprinkling

directions:

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the brown sugar until it dissolves and the mixture starts to bubble. Stir in vanilla and set aside to cool.
In a separate bowl, cream the cream cheese and powdered sugar together for 60 seconds. With the mixer on low speed, add in brown sugar and butter mixture. Mix until combined. Stir in the mini chocolate chips.
Garnish with additional mini chocolate chips. Serve with animal cracker, nilla wafers

  1. Does anyone have a good crock pot recipe that they are willing to share? With two young boys to keep up with, I have fallen in love with the crock pot. I just need more recipes!

There is something completely scrumptious about a warm breakfast on a cold, fall morning. This recipe is from "The Pioneer Woman" and I found it last year right around the holidays. It's easy to make (always a perk in my book), freezes well, and is worth every calorie inhaled (yes, inhaled... it's that good! Enjoy!

  2. Gail, what a great idea!

Ashley, I love crock pot meals, too! Here are a couple of out favorites, nothing fancy or new but maybe you haven't fixed them.
    *Green beans, Potatoes, Sausage*
I use canned green beans and potatoes and kielbasa (sp)sausage. I also add seasoning salt and fresh ground pepper. Cook a couple hours to all day.

    *Chicken in Mushroom Soup*
I saute however many chicken breast I need in butter, seasoning salt and pepper. I cooked until golden brown on outside, doesn't need to be done on inside. I mix 2 cans of mushroom soup with 1 1/2 cans of milk in the crock pot. Add chicken to the soup in crock pot. Let cook for at least 6 hours. Serve over white rice.

If I think of any others, I will let you know. Hope you enjoy!
